A Valuable Asset to Berkeley

“The Regents’ and Chancellor’s Scholarship has been essential in my growth and development as a low-income, first-generation Latino scholar at the number one public university. The program has been a source of support, networking, and guidance. By volunteering at UC Berkeley admissions ‘yield’ events at my high school, I had the opportunity to interact and encourage potential scholars to attend Berkeley. It is a great feeling to walk around campus and see familiar faces whom I encouraged. This program makes me feel like a valuable asset to Berkeley and has allowed me to grow into an effective leader who has had a positive impact on the larger student body and my community in the Central Valley.”
